Tadalafil
DESCRIPTION Tadalafil
Drug Uses Tadalafil
Tadalafil is in a class of medications known as PDE-5 inhibitors, which are
used to treat cases of male impotence. Elli Lilly and Icos are currently
marketing Tadalafil in the U.S., UK, EU , and countries around the world.
Tadalafil acts in the same way as Viagra, by blocking an enzyme called
phosphodiesterase-5, or PDE-5. Tadalafil is more targeted than Viagra which
results in fewer sides effects and lower dosage. Tadalafil helps the smooth
muscles in the penis relax and widen, which allows for more blood to enter.
As a result, you gain erections faster and easier with Tadalafil.
Tadalafil is approved in authorized markets for the treatment of mild to severe ED
at both 10 and 20 mg Tadalafil doses. When you buy Tadalafil, the labels in each of
these markets indicate that the product should be taken prior to anticipated
sexual activity and without regard to food. Just like Viagra, sexual stimulation
is needed for Tadalafil to work. According to the European label, the efficacy of
Tadalafil may persist up to 24 hours after the pill is taken. In Australia and
United States the label indicates efficacy up to 36 hours after dosing.
Tadalafil is not for everyone. Men taking any form of nitrates (often used to
control anginal chest pain) should never take Tadalafil, as the combination may
cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure. Men taking medicines called "alpha
blockers" (sometimes prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure),
with exception of Flomax® (tamsulosin HCl) 0.4 mg once-daily, should not take
Tadalafil. This side effects from this combination could cause a significant drop
in blood pressure.

Drug Uses Tadalafil
Tadalafil is a prescription medicine taken by mouth for the treatment of
erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.
How Taken Tadalafil
Take Tadalafil exactly as your doctor prescribes. Tadalafil comes in different

Tadalafil dose is 10 mg. Tadalafil should be taken no more than once a day. Your
doctor will prescribe the dose that is right for you.
Warnings/Precautions Tadalafil
Tadalafil can cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly to an unsafe level if
it is taken with certain other medicines such as nitrates and alpha-blockers,
and recreational drugs that contain nitrates called "poppers". A sudden drop in
your blood pressure could cause you to become dizzy, faint, or have a heart
attack or stroke. Until you are certain how you are affected by Tadalafil,
use caution when driving or operating heavy machinery. Tadalafil contains some
lactose and should not be taken by patients who are lactose intolerant. Also,
during treatment you should avoid grapefruit juice. Taking Tadalafil with grapefruit
juice can increase your chances of experiencing undesirable side effects. If
you are taking medications with nitrates or nitric oxide, have uncontrolled
blood pressure (high or low), or if you have a history of stroke or heart attack
DO NOT take Tadalafil.
Missed Dose Tadalafil
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost
time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular
dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Possible Side Effects Tadalafil
The most common side effects with Tadalafil are headache, indigestion, back
pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. These side effects
usually go away after a few hours. Patients who get back pain and muscle aches
usually get it 12 to 24 hours after taking Tadalafil. Back pain and muscle aches
usually go away by themselves within 48 hours. Call your doctor if you get
a side effect that bothers you or one that will not go away.
Storage Tadalafil
Store Tadalafil at room temperature between 59 and 86 F (15 and 30 C).
Overdose Tadalafil
In cases of overdose, standard supportive measures should be adopted
as required. Hemodialysis contributes negligibly to Tadalafil elimination.

Do not change your dose of Tadalafil without talking to your doctor. Your doctor
may lower your dose or raise your dose, depending on how your body reacts to
Tadalafil. Do not drink alcohol to excess when taking Tadalafil (for example,
